(More customer reviews)Overall this is not a bad product, if used in the right environment. The solar panel only produces power under direct and strong sunlight. The product would work well in the climate zones of Arizona, Texas, Florida -most of the time. If the aera is even slightly shaded or used anywhere sunlight can be obscured by clouds for any length of time, you will be frustraded by this product. Instead purchase one with the battery pack, it would be worth the extra 20 bucks to have it work when you want it to, and not simlpy when conditions are perfect.

We placed the stake in the sunniest part of our garden, which has sun all morning and day long, and it does not glow at all. We also purchased the butterfly stake, and it unfortunately does not glow in the dark either.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this bird bath as an alternative to ceramic bird baths that break easily when exposed to heat and cold. The brid bath looked fine when it arrived although it is nowehere as nice and glossy as depicted on Amazon. Within weeks, all the finish was gone. It now looks like a brass basin. The hath bowl itself gets so hot I am afraid birds could actually get hurt trying to stand on the rim. I cannot recommend this.

(More customer reviews)I found this terrific, but filled with a host of problems you won't soon forget. Not even a day passed before my squirrels popped the lid off the top. There is no electricity at the top to stop them. I spent another $20 and quite a few hours and modified the top and wiring to electrify that as well. Thank goodness I am handy. This could prove frustrating if you are not handy, nor clever too. The birds can't get to the seed at the last 2" from the bottom and that quickly rots and drives the birds away. The inside is especially difficult to clean and I needed a long stick to pry out the damp solidified seed and a lot of patience to clean it. A lot of what looks like metal in the photos is silver painted plastic and while I assembled it right from the box I broke the plastic top off and had to return it for another. Don't plan to hand the metal wire bar in the picture over the branch or you will break the top right off. You need to hang this off a wire. The holes for suspending the metal wire bar are especially poorly designed. The battery cover is attached with tiny screws so be prepared to lose them. All of these problems could have easily been remedied by the staff that designed it. What a shame they didn't. Overall its excellent at keeping squirrels away. I was so inundated with sparrows after the squirrels were gone I scratched my head and wondered what have I done?

Avant Garden 8190-2 Lily Pad Birdbath with Reservoir Review

(More customer reviews)I picked up this feeder because I wanted something that did not have to be refilled constantly.
The problem is the sun shines through the clear bottle so easily, the water starts to grow algae well before the birds can splash their way through all the water. I did slow the algae growth with a water additive, but with it hanging in a tree, I found debris regularly got in the bird bath tray, and had to be dumped, which ate through the supply of water very quickly anyway.
Once the algae is in the bottle, it is very difficult to clean it because the opening on the glass bottle is no bigger than your average soda bottle opening.
The quality of the construction overall is descent, the metal bath, and the bottle itself are quite thick and durable. However it is a bit tricky to setup the resevoir once it is filled with water, and you have to flip it over, between the 3 chains, and into bottom of the bath.
For me, this was a product whose concept and design was much better in my mind than in actual practice hanging from a tree.
